Behind The Counter Comics Ep. 25 – RIP Frank 2-10-12

Behind The Counter

This very special episode of Behind the Counter with Rich Stambolian and Jonathan Adler featured an extremely heartfelt tribute to Frank Castle. The Punisher MAX title is over and Frank is 6 feet under. Listen as they recall some of their favorite Punisher moments, talk at length about the establishment of this brutal title by Garth Ennis and Jason Aaron, the impact it had on their enjoyment, and why you should pick up all collected editions. They also touch on a couple of news tidbits about some surprising litigation within the comic world. They also give a nod to the homerun book of the week; Conan the Barbarian #1! What’s good in life? Behind the Counter is.

  1. ‘Comeuppance’ is actually defined as ‘a punishment or fate that someone deserves’, and carries a negative connotation.

Tony Moore probably isn’t seeking that for himself, but rather he wants Kirkland to receive his comeuppance.

On the other hand, Rich nailed the Electra comeuppance reference.

I had to look up the word, and that’s just one more golden nugget I picked up watching this fine show.

  2. I read your rant about Comic Book Men not being entertaining and thought I check your show out to see what a “real comic book man” show would sound like…wow…boring as hell. No wonder there has never been a comic book show before.

Whoever told you guys that this show is entertaining is playing a cruel joke and you need to seek revenge.

  3. I really appreciate that comment. If you could give us your name we will plug “Whoever told you guys that this show is entertaining is playing a cruel joke and you need to seek revenge.” – I’m not being sarcastic, it really made me chuckle. To each his own. Thank you for tuning in at least once.
